First Leg – 7:10 p.m. ET
As far as “bad” NBA teams go, you’d be hard-pressed to find one with a brighter future than the Timberwolves. This young, exciting core has won five of its last eight and is 3-1 this season as an away favorite. The Pistons came through for us last week, but they won’t win tonight.
In baseball, the Dodgers are slumping big time, having won just two of their 10-game road trip. They return home with ace Walker Buehler on the mound in a get-right spot against Seattle.

Pick: Timberwolves and Dodgers Parlay (-117)
Boston Bruins @ Washington Capitals – 7:00 p.m. ET
In what will be a riveting preview of the upcoming playoff series, the player to focus on is David Pastrnak: the 24-year-old winger is on a four-game point streak and scored three goals across two games earlier this season against probable Tuesday starter Vitek Vanecek. This is a fair plus-money price for him to get in the goal column once again.
Pick: David Pastrnak to Score a Goal (+123)
Chicago Cubs @ Cleveland Indians – 6:10 p.m. ET
Tuesday gives us a rematch of the legendary 2016 World Series. The Indians are getting all the love here with 2020 AL Cy Young winner Shane Bieber pitching, but he hasn’t been nearly as dominant to start this season. Outside of the pitching matchup, these teams are pretty even on paper and Kris Bryant is having an MVP type of season. Take the value on Chicago.
Pick: Cubs +163
Degenerate Corner from the Rundown
Homer picks – one of the trickier balancing acts in betting. On one hand, the homer knows their team better than anyone else; on the other, they could be blinded by personal biases. You can see this duality working in today’s Rundown – we’re betting against Doug’s Red Sox, while also backing a player on the Bruins. There’s no problem betting on your home team, just don’t let it get in the way of stats and logic.
Your Turn: We’ll give you a choice. Take a wager on a team you root for or fade them, but either way, explain your thinking. We’ll see whose picks come out victorious in the next newsletter.
Shoutout: Yesterday, we asked you to pick the over/under on Russell Westbrook’s PRA prop (54.5) and guess the exact number. David Nagelberg (@SportsGuruDave) retained his shoutout crown by correctly taking the over and being one point off, predicting 63 points, rebounds and assists when the actual number was 62. Incredible, Dave!
