The NHL action goes on with Week 3 and seven games on Tuesday’s schedule. There are a few matchups that attracted our attention for a reason, so we bring you all need-to-know betting trends and notes for those intriguing contests.
The action starts at Bell Centre in Montreal where the Canadiens host the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Atlantic Division showdown. After winning the Presidents’ Trophy last season, the Lightning is off to a poor start this term, and the Canadiens are not glittering, too.
Both teams lost three of their first five games of the season, but Tampa Bay suffered its losses away from home. This will be their fifth straight clash on the road. They are coming off a disappointing 4-2 loss at Ottawa where the Lightning were listed as a -260 favorite.
On the other side, the Canadiens are coming off an impressive 6-3 victory to the reigning NHL champs St. Louis Blues. The Canadiens bounced back from a 4-2 home loss to the Detroit Red Wings which tells you a lot about how unpredictable the NHL is.

The Canadiens are only 2-7 in their last nine games overall, but they are 12-4 in the previous 16 outings at Bell Centre. They won six of the last nine home meetings with the Lightning and lost seven of the previous nine head-to-head duels overall.
If you are interested in the totals, four of the last five meetings between Tampa Bay and Montreal went in the under. On the other hand, the over is 5-1 in Tampa Bay and Montreal’s last six outings.
The Western Conference clash at T-Mobile Arena in Vegas will see the Nashville Predators facing off against the Vegas Golden Knights. Since the Golden Knights entered the league, each team has been victorious three times in six head-to-head matchups.
The Predators have won three of their previous four encounters with the Golden Knights. However, in their previous duel, the Golden Knights thrashed off the Predators 5-1 at T-Mobile Arena. The under has hit in four of the last five meetings between these two foes.
The Golden Knights have won four of their six games this season. They are coming off a couple of impressive victories over Calgary 6-2 at home and Los Angeles 5-2 on the road. The Golden Knights lost one game at home this term, and it was against the reigning vice-champs Boston Bruins 4-3.
On the other side, the Predators are coming off a tough 7-4 loss at Los Angeles which was their first outing on the road this season. They are the most efficient team in the NHL at the moment with 4.60 goals scored per game. Also, all their five contests went in the over, while Nashville is 3-2 on the season.
There is another intriguing Western Conference showdown on Tuesday night, as the Winnipeg Jets welcome the Arizona Coyotes. The Jets have dominated the Coyotes over the last few years. They are 15-4 in the last 19 meetings with the Coyotes and 10-0 in the previous ten encounters in Winnipeg.
The Coyotes are 1-2-1 on the season. They are the most inefficient team in the league with 1.75 goals scored per game. The Coyotes lost seven of their last eight games on the road and five of their previous six road matchups with the Central Division.
The Jets are 4-3 on the season, coming off a tough 7-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. They will search for redemption in front of the home fans where the Jets lost seven of their last eight outings. Likewise, the Jets lost eight of their last 12 home meetings with the Western Conference.
