  • Tampa Bay Rays vs. Toronto Blue Jays

The Rays have clinched the wild card, but they are still fighting for the home-court advantage. Therefore, they need to beat the Blue Jays in the closing game of the regular season.

Entering the last night’s clash at Rogers Centre, the Rays were 7-1 in their previous eight outings. On the other side, the Blue Jays were 2-4 in their previous six showings and 3-12 in their last 15 meetings with the Rays.

Tampa Bay will start Blake Snell, while Toronto will counter with Clay Buchholz. Snell is 6-7 this season with a 4.21 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP. Still, the Rays are 5-1 in his last six starts, and Snell is 4-2 in ten starts against the Blue Jays in his career.

Buchholz is 1-5 this season with a 7.00 ERA and a 1.54 WHIP. The Blue Jays won his last two starts, but it was against the Orioles, and Buchholz allowed 16 hits and 13 earned runs in 7.2 innings of work.

The Rays have to take advantage of Buchholz, while Snell should dominate the Blue Jays’ bats. The bookies haven’t announced the odds yet, and if the price on a straight-up win is unattractive, take the Rays to cover.

  • Minnesota Vikings vs. Chicago Bears

The Vikings missed the playoffs last season due to a 24-10 home loss to the Bears in Week 17. They will be highly motivated to get a payoff, but I think the Bears will win again. Chicago is playing at home, and the Bears’ defense is terrifying.

Both teams are 2-1 on the season and both lost to Green Bay. Minnesota defeated Atlanta and Oakland at home, but they struggled against the Packers’ defense. I expect to see a similar scenario at Soldier Field.

The Bears are allowing 13.0 points per game and rank second in the league. While Minnesota leans on its ground game, racking up 193.7 rushing yards per game (2nd in the league), the Bears are surrendering only 68.7 rushing yards per contest (5th).

Dalvin Cook is doing a great job for the Vikings. He already has 57 carries for 375 yards and four touchdowns. However, the Bears will be well prepared. I think they will shut down Cook and Vikings’ rushing.

Likewise, Kirk Cousins completed just 37 of his 63 passing attempts, throwing for 502 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. Cousins will have a tough time against the Bears who tortured him last seasons.

On the other side, the Bears’ offense has been struggling, tallying just 16.7 points per game (26th) on 275.0 total yards (29th). Still, I rely on their defense to win this clash.

Likewise, the Bears won both meetings with the Vikings last season. They are 3-3 SU and 5-1 ATS in the last six encounters with Minnesota and 8-3 SU and ATS in the previous 11 outings at home. On the other side, the Vikings are 1-4 SU and ATS in their last five road contests. Take the Bears and points.

  • FC Dallas vs. Colorado

With two rounds to go, Colorado still has a chance to reach the playoffs. The Rapids are six points behind No. 7 seed FC Dallas, so a victory over the Hoops is a must.

Colorado won four of its last five games and is riding a four-game winning streak at home. On the other side, Dallas is winless in three games in a row, recording two draws and a loss in the process. Also, the Hoops lost three of their last five outings on the road along with a couple of ties.

The stake is huge for both teams, so I expect to see them finding the net. Dallas scored only once in its last five outings on the road, but Colorado kept its net intact just once in its previous six games at home. Likewise, both teams scored in the last five head-to-head duels in Colorado.
