Friday, May 13th 7:05 PM

Starting Pitchers:
New York: Severino
Chicago: Sale

Odds:
Chicago White Six -148
O/U 7 runs

The Yankees will continue their 10-game home stand Friday when they play host to the Chicago White Sox. New York just took 3 of 4 from the Kansas City Royals in their prior series, but still sit in last place of the American League East with a 14-19 record.

The White Sox, who are in the middle of a 6 game road trip, have cooled a bit recently after winning 7 of 9 they dropped their last two games to the Texas Rangers, but still have a comfortable lead in the American League Central with a 23-12 record.

Chicago will send Chris Sale to the mound, as he’s been impressive winning his last 3 starts and giving up a total of 4 runs in those 3 combined. He has han ERA of 1.79 and a WHIP of 0.775 on the season.

For New York, Luis Severino will be taking the hill, where he has not fared very well lately. Sporting a 6.12 ERA on the season and a WHIP of 1.484, Severino has lost his last 3 starts. Even more concerning than his pitching has been the offensive production behind him as the White Sox have only scored 1 run in each of his last 3 starts.

Chicago is a well-balanced team with solid pitching and a consistent lineup to produce runs. After a rest day on Thursday, they should be prepared to bounced back after their brief 2 game losing streak. Sale is 3-1 against New York during his career with an ERA of 1.52.

The Yankees’ bats have awoken during their recent series with the Royals, but will have to keep it going to erase the remaining doubts about their offense. They’ll be hoping to close out their recent home stand on a winning note after this 3 game set with the White Sox.
