  • Houston Astros vs. Washington Nationals

The Astros showed a strong character last night, bouncing back from two straight home losses and cutting the Nationals’ lead in the 2019 World Series. The action goes on Saturday night, and the Nationals are slight favorites to beat the Astros in Game 4.

Jose Urquidy will toe the slab for the Astros, getting his first starting nod of the postseason. Urquidy had two relief appearances, allowing six hits and a run while striking out eight in 4.1 innings of work. Jose went 2-1 in seven starts in the regular season, tallying a 3.95 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP.

Patrick Corbin will get the ball for the hosts. The left-hander is 1-2 in two starts and four relief apps this postseason. He allowed 12 hits and 11 earned runs in 14.1 innings of work. Corbin went 14-7 in the regular season with a 3.25 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP.

Considering Corbin’s current form, I’m not sure why the Nats are listed as favorites even though they will face Urquidy. The Astros’ bullpen did a great job last night, allowing only two hits in 5.1 innings of work.

On the other side, the Nationals’ bullpen is at the highest level in this series. Anibal Sanchez lost the game last night, while three relievers did an excellent job. Hereof, I expect to see another thrilling battle. I will take the Astros to tie the series and make it even more interesting, but it is a really tough wager.

  • Auburn Tigers vs. LSU Tigers

Alongside the clash between Wisconsin and Ohio State, the Tiger Bowl is the most interesting game of the day, no doubt. The Auburn Tigers are desperate to avoid their second loss of the season, but they will have a mountain to climb against the undefeated LSU Tigers.

LSU’s offense is the second-best in the country with Joe Burrow under center. They are scoring 50.1 points per game on 540.0 total yards. Burrow has tossed for whopping 2484 yards, 29 touchdowns, and only three interceptions. Joe’s timing with his receivers is impressive.

Auburn’s run defense has been impressive thus far. However, their secondary is fragile and will be exposed by LSU’s passing game. Auburn is surrendering 224.7 passing yards per contest (68th in the CFB). If LSU’s offensive line does a solid job protecting Burrow, I’m sure the hosts will win.

Covering a 10.5-point spread could be a problem, but Auburn’s offense will have a tall task to keep the pace. Auburn mostly relies on its ground game, and LSU’s run defense is 12th in the country with 94.6 yards allowed per game, right behind Auburn. Hereof, I’m backing LSU to cover.

FREE NHL BETTING PICK OF THE DAY

  • Nashville Predators vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

The Predators (6-3-1) finished their three-game homestand with a couple of straight wins. They scored ten times over that two contests and allowed only one goal in a return. However, the Predators lost two of their three road contests this season, surrendering 14 goals in that span.

On the other side, the Lightning are coming off a 3-2 victory to the Pittsburgh Penguins. It was their second home win of the season along with a 6-2 defeat to the Colorado Avalanche. Now, the Lightning will try to stay on the winning path, but the Predators have won 12 of the last 15 H2H duels.

Still, I’m not interested in the side bet, expecting to see a bunch of goals. The Predators are the most efficient team in the NHL with 4.20 goals per game, while Tampa Bay is scoring 3.44 goals per contest (7th in the NHL).

Likewise, neither of these two teams can brag with a good defense. Nashville is 16th in the league in goals against (3.10), while Tampa Bay is 20th with 3.22 goals allowed per contest. Also, Tampa Bay is surrendering 33.9 shots per game (27th). Give me the over on the totals.

  • Los Angeles Clippers vs. Phoenix Suns

The Clippers are on fire at the start of the season. They beat the Lakers 112-102 in the opener while smashing the Warriors 141-122 on the road on Thursday. The Clippers will try to extend their streak against the short-handed Suns who are 1-1 on the season.

The Suns thrashed off Sacramento 124-95 in the opener. Last night, they fought bravely in Denver, losing 108-107 in overtime. However, Ricky Rubio tweaked his knee, and the Suns could be without their both point guards tonight, as Ty Jerome is already sidelined with an ankle injury.

Furthermore, the Suns will miss Deandre Ayton for the next 24 games. No.1 overall pick from the 2018 NBA Draft has been suspended for drug abuse. After a tough loss in overtime and a journey back home, I don’t think the Suns stand a chance here. Give me the Clippers and points.
