About Travis Pulver

Sports are not life to Travis but they sure as heck do make life a lot more fun. Over the last few years, Travis has worked for several news-oriented sites that focused on sports, especially football, baseball, basketball, and to a lesser extent boxing and MMA. Having grown up in the football-crazed state of Texas football is his first love. According to his mother, he was more excited to watch NFL and college games as a baby then Sesame Street or Mickey Mouse. His passion for sports quickly spread to baseball (favorite team is the Houston Astros), basketball, and track and field as a kid. It wasn’t until his college years that he discovered the tremendous game of rugby. If you want someone who has a passion for the game, Travis is the journalist for the job! Travis graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana with a masters in Political Science. Prior to that, he attended IU Purdue in Indianapolis, Indiana where he earned his Bachelors degree in Political Science and earned his first degree at Texas A & M in Galveston, TX, a BS in Maritime Administration. Travis, a native Texan, has been blogging about sports and other subjects for several years. He currently lives in Indiana (is a basketball fan but hates going to the Indy 500) with his wife and two adorable kids. Posted on September 18, 2018, by Travis Pulver Conference play gets underway across the country this week. In the Pac-12, two of the best teams the conference, Stanford and Oregon, has to offer are going to be tested right out of the gate—against each other. The Cardinal will head north to Eugene, Oregon, for a match-up […]

Posted on September 17, 2018, by Travis Pulver Every year the media wants to shout from the rooftops that the Texas Longhorns are back. But then they do something like lose to Maryland in the season opener, and things get quiet. But then they beat Tulsa, and now a thorough dismantling of USC has some ready […]

Posted on September 12, 2018, by Travis Pulver College football fans often have to wait a couple of months before they get to see their team get truly tested. But that will not be the case for those who back the LSU and Auburn Tigers. Both have already played a top 25 team and won. But […]

Posted on September 5, 2018, by Travis Pulver There are a lot of great rivalries in the NFL. But none of them have the history that the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers have. When the two long-time rivals face off on Sunday Night Football, it will be their 197th meeting (regular season and playoffs). Green […]

Posted on September 4, 2018, by Travis Pulver Week One of the 2018 college football season is in the books. While we did learn a lot about a number of teams, we still don’t know nearly enough to make any judgment calls. With so many teams playing soft competition, it’s impossible to know if they are […]

Posted on September 4, 2018, by Travis Pulver It’s easy to look at USC and discredit them because they have a true freshman at quarterback. But, in recent years, Georgia nearly won a title with one. Alabama rode one to a national championship last year after inserting him in the second half. So, that argument doesn’t […]

Posted on September 3, 2018, by Travis Pulver Are you ready for some football? The 2018 NFL season is finally getting ready to start. No more OTA’s. No more training camp and, most of all, no more preseason. Starting with Thursday night’s season opener, Atlanta Falcons at the Philadelphia Eagles, every game means something. Every game […]

Posted on August 29, 2018, by Travis Pulver College football has technically already returned, but we have yet to see any of the marquee teams take the field. But everyone is going to be getting in on the fun this weekend. There are even a few teams that are brave enough to take on a serious […]
